Pirates coach tips Sundowns for league title
Micho Sredojević hesitantly threw Orlando Pirates’ name in the hat as contenders for the Absa Premiership title, but insisted that Mamelodi Sundowns remain the firm favourites to walk away with the title in May.

The Sea Robbers convincingly beat Downs 3-1 to move within five points behind Masandawana last Saturay, but the Serb insists that Pitso Mosimane’s side remains in the driving seat in the league race.
“Every match you must go with the intention to win in order to be in contention for any trophy,” Sredojević said.

“I will not run away from it but the favourites are still Sundowns. We want to develop and improve the way matches are going to be. I see the room for improvement. I see developments and the critical elements that need to be improved otherwise football will punish us next time.
“This is a driving force that is pushing us to pull our sleeves and go to work. I will not us allow myself to be caught in speaking big, I would rather keep the low profile and let the results talk instead of us,” he added.
The Buccaneers coach is pleased with the improvements he has made in the team since taking over from Kjell Jonevret at the start of the season.
“We are working on some things and we are happy and motivated that some of them are working, we will make anything possible as the technical team together with Rhulani Mokwena and Benson Mhlongo to keep the players motivated and make sure that these things are not evaporating.”
