Pirates coach Micho bemoans dropped points against City
Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic has described their 2-2 draw with Cape Town City as a setback in their bid to clinch the Absa Premiership title.

The Serbian coach says he and his technical team need to find a way to get the players mentally ready for their last league game of the season.
The draw against Cape City gives Mamelodi Sundowns a chance to leapfrog Pirates at the top, with Bucs having accumulated 54 points in their last 29 games, while second-placed Downs are on 53 after 28 games.
Sredojevic believes his side did everything they could to try and beat City and thus extend the lead at the top, but they will now shift their focus on their final league game against Polokwane City on Saturday at Orlando Stadium.
“It was not meant to be, but now our focus is the match against Polokwane. We have a match where we will continue to go all out on attack,” said the Bucs coach.
“The message is very simple, the players are fully aware that we are in the mix. We need to focus on the last match and the intention is to win it to see where we are. It was a setback – it was disappointing that we didn’t win, however, despite giving everything we didn’t get what we wanted. At the same moment, we need to find the formula to keep the players mentally tuned in. They did what we asked them to do, but unfortunately we didn’t profit from what they did. So we are now looking forward to the last match.”
Asked whether he thinks their chance of lifting the league trophy at the end of the season has ended, Sredojevic said their main target is to finish the campaign on 57 points and they will see what happens next.
“I have no right to speak. Mathematics is very simple– we have 54 points and we can get a maximum of 57 points. Our only concern at the moment is to get to 57 points, whether it will be enough to make us mathematically champions, well, we can speak after that.”
