According to reports Pirates wrote a letter to the striker to discuss the possibility of him moving to South Africa next season to join the Soweto giants.
Kotoko’s Communications Director, Lawyer Sarfo Duku, says the Sea Robbers have contacted the club and have asked for the club’s forgiveness over speaking to the player directly.
Yacouba has been linked with a move to Pirates at the end of the season and Duku revealed the clubs have moved on from the matter.
“Before Orlando Pirates wrote to Asante Kotoko, they had written to the player earlier about a week before they wrote to us that he should travel to South Africa to familiarise with the team,” he told Oyerepa FM. “Asante Kotoko got wind of this and wrote to them asking why they did so. They replied apologising for their actions and accepted they erred.
“This was a clear case of inducement or better still tapping, but we didn’t want to create problems for the player.”
