Paulse: We’re all excited to see how the next round unfolds

The Cape outfit league campaign wasn’t convincing, which led to coach Roger De Sa resigning as the coach.

The resignation saw former head of youth coach Stanley Menzo to take charge.

Ajax Cape Town striker Nathan Paulse said everyone in the team was excited about the second round of the league having ended the first round campaign very well last year.

The Urban Warriors 2016/2017 started on a bad note, which saw them languishing in the relegation zone under Roger De Sa. The coach later resigned, which led to head of youth coach Stanley Menzo taking over the club with hopes of turning things around.

“Everybody knows that things are on the up. We ended the first half of the season very well, we have been back for the past week and a half, it has been hard work running in this heat. But we are all excited to see how the next half of the season goes,” Paulse told Ajax.co.za

“I think we are all aware that if we continue on this winning trend, it bodes well. Hopefully, we can push for a higher top eight spot if the form we are on at the moment keeps up. We are excited, everyone has a good attitude, so let’s see how the next half unfolds.”

Ajax ended the year with two wins and Paulse adds that it would be pleasing to do well in the Nedbank Cup, having last played in a Cup in 2015.

“I think a good cup run [in the Nedbank Cup] will be exciting as well.  The last final we were in was the 2015 MTN8. There are a lot of players that played in that game, so they know the feeling.”
