Ekstein has been locked in contract negotiations with Chiefs over a new contract with his current deal set to expire at the end of the 2018/19 season.
He has also been linked with a move away from the club.
Parker says Ekstein should not fall into the same trap as former winger George Lebese by leaving Naturena for another PSL side.
Lebese left Chiefs for Mamelodi Sundowns to get game time but struggled to get it at the Brazilians and is now on loan at SuperSport United until the end of the season.
“We are definitely praying that he will stay with us and things go well with his contract negotiations,” Parker told The Sowetan.
“We have seen players such as George leave and things end up not going their way, so I don’t want to see that again. Since I have been at Chiefs, I have seen players, such as Tefu Mashamaite, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Mandla Masango come and go. When they leave Chiefs, players have thought it is greener on the other side but it’s not always like that,” added Parker.
