The 26-year-old player is one of the players who feature prominently in the starting lineup at FCSB after a rather unfavourable start to his career at the club.
There was a time when the team’s management doubted that they had made a wise decision by bringing the burly defender on board.
But all that has become history as Ngezana continues to grow in stature at his new team.
Ngezana was recently honoured for the first time with an individual award as he was named the Most Outstanding Player in the first round of the Betano Cup.
It is a deserved award as the defender not only did his defensive duties properly but also added his name on the score sheet to help FCSB beat Bihor 2-0 in the first round game.
It was his first goal for his new team. But even at his old team, Kaizer Chiefs, he had the ability to score goals with headers from set pieces.
Speaking to reporters after his award, Ngezana expressed his happiness.
““It’s my first award in Romania, it feels exciting because of the recognition and the support from the fans,” says the former Amakhosi man.
“I thank my teammates, because without them I don’t think I would’ve received this award.
“Also, thanks to the technical team for helping me to improve as a player.”
He also expressed his ambitions, saying, “I want to give 110% in every game that I play.
“The Romanian Cup is very important, not only for me but also for the team and for the fans, so we’ll try by all means to win it.
