The draw saw Downs go three points behind leaders Baroka FC, whom they face in their next league encounter in Pretoria.

“I am unhappy with the result but I am not unhappy with the performance. We did very well to manage counter-attacks. They are a good team, Teboho Moloi is doing a great job and it is about time he gets his chance.

“Chippa fought hard, a few young guys were stubborn. They were tactically astute and were not allowing us to go inside. They are a decent team. How many teams come here and win?”

Mosimane took a swipe at the groundsman who, according to the coach, opted to have the grass at a longer length than usual ahead of the Pro14 rugby match between the Southern Kings and the Scarlets the following day.
