Onyango bemoans Sredojevic departure
Uganda captain Denis Onyango believes Micho's departure is a big loss for the Cranes, but adds he understands why the Serbian coach had to leave.
Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, who is linked with a move to Orlando Pirates, lost his post as Uganda coach this past week, citing unpaid salaries as the reason for parting ways with the Cranes.
“Definitely, we have lost a very good coach who has been fantastic for the national team ever since he came back from Rwanda,” Onyango told the Daily Monitor.
“It’s so sad that he has left, but I believe he has done a fantastic job. Some of us had never seen or believed that we would go the Africa Cup, but he brought back belief.
“We will miss him, but at the end of the day, it’s for his own good. He says he has not been paid for six months. He has family to look after and a life to live. It’s understandable he had to.”

Meanwhile, Sredojevic has dismissed reports he rejected a double salary offer made by the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (Fufa).
“Never rejected double salary offer, but would be the biggest moron on this planet if I accepted the promise of double yet even single was never paid,” tweeted Sredojevic on his Twitter account.
Reports in South Africa suggest that Sredojevic landed in South Africa on Monday ahead of signing for Pirates.
“Those spreading rumours about me already signing are wrong, I still didn’t sign anything, but ready to fly tonight [Monday] to a new destination to sign,” explained Sredojevic.
