The former Racing Genk defender joined the Caf Champions League champions in August last year after playing for the Belgium side for almost a decade.
At the age of 29, Ngcongca is still hopeful to add to his 41 Bafana Bafana caps.
“I want to get back into the national team. It is the ambition of any player to represent their country,” said Ngcongca.
“With the Fifa World Cup around the corner, it could be my last World Cup if the opportunity arises, but we will see. But first I want to get back to the form that made me to be selected for 2010 World Cup, and the form that got me into Genk’s Team of the Century. I need that form back.”
Ngcongca, who spent his final season in Europe on loan to French League 1 side Troyes AC, has not rule out a potential return to Europe.
“Let me be honest, I don’t know what the future holds because I came back to join a team that is the champions of Africa, so anything is possible. I am still in touch with some of the coaches that used to coach me, so anything can happen.”
The Western Cape-born defender has seen little action in the colours of Masandawana due to a recurring knee injury.
His primary target is to get back into full fitness and rediscover his form.
“I think I am getting there, and hopefully by the start of the MTN8 I will be solid and fully fit. I want to be the Anele that I know. Once I am injury free, I know I will get that confidence back. I will be able to join the attack. The speed was lost when I got the injury but I think I am getting there slowly.”
