NFD club Eagles respond to bribe allegations

The KwaZulu-Natal side, who are third in the NFD standings behind Stellenbosch and Ajax Cape Town, won 1-0 against TS Galaxy last weekend, courtesy of a penalty converted by Philani Cele. This was their 10th penalty this season.

Eagles general manager James Dlamini says these rumours about bribery are a plan to derail the team from gaining promotion to the Premiership.

“If people are trying to distract us from our quest to win the league, they are using the wrong tactics because we won’t be intimidated by those allegations. Our focus is on getting promotion. Whatever is being said doesn’t intimidate us,” Dlamini told IOL.

“I was with the team yesterday  and we laughed off those allegations. When we lose everyone gets quiet, but when we win everybody cries. I don’t know what we did to those who dislikes us.”
