Ncikazi bemoans Arrows’ luck in Nedbank Cup draw

Golden Arrows’ assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has bemoaned his team’s luck after they were drawn against Kaizer Chiefs for the first round of the lucrative Nedbank Cup earlier this week.

Ncikazi said they were hoping to be drawn against a lower division side for a change.

“We always get the toughest draw… We have never been drawn against a lower division team like others and this sets us up for a difficult start to the tournament which saps on our energy,” Ncikazi told Phakaaathi.

The Bafana Bes’thende assistant mentor however admitted that it was perhaps better to be drawn against a team they know.

“On the flip side, this could be a better draw for us because we know Chiefs and we watch almost all their games. It will be easier planning for them and we will play at a venue we are familiar with,” added Ncikazi.
