The Zambian striker, who has scored eight goals this season, was brought into the country by the Buccaneers in 2015 from Zanaco, but things didn’t work out well for him, which saw him being loaned out to Golden Arrows a couple of months later that year, before the Bucs releases him in 2016.
“Circumstances didn’t allow me to reach my potential (at Pirates), and obviously a lot was expected from me having come from the country where I was a top goal-scorer and the team expects you to score goals. When you don’t score goals then the pressure mounts up and they lose the trust and confidence they had in you when they brought you,” said Musonda, who was voted Absa Premiership player of the month (December and January).
“So I went on loan to Golden Arrows, I wasn’t bad but I didn’t reach my full potential. When I came back to Pirates they decided to let me go. I am just happy that I got a home at Leopards and I am able to express myself.”
