Mulaudzi has been working hard – Jane

Seeing Rhoda Mulaudzi back in the national women’s team set-up has made a lot of people and she has been working hard on it, says Banyana Banyana skipper Refiloe Jane.

Jane and Mulaudzi are teammates at Canberra United in Australia, and the Banyana defender says Mulaudzi has been working tirelessly at training and games to try and get back to Banyana, having last played for senior national women’s team back in October 2017.

“It feels really amazing to have Rhoda as a teammate, I know the struggles that she has been through her journey in football, it hasn’t been easy with the exclusion, but they have only made her stronger. Because this is football at the end of the day, you just have to keep on working hard and that’s what she has been doing even at Canberra,” said Jane.

“She has been scoring goals and making sure that fights for her place in the team. Everyone is happy with her, our coaches at Canberra are very excited and couldn’t wait for her to get to camp because that’s what she has been working for.”

Banyana take on the Netherlands in the inaugural Winnie Madikezela-Mandela Challenge at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, before locking horns with Sweden three days later at the same venue.
