Pirates were drawn against Ajax Cape Town for the quarterfinals of this year’s tournament.
“We want to get to the final,” Gcaba said.
Gcaba played in central defence for the Sea Robbers on Sunday as opposed to his usual left-back position.
Pirates won the match 2-1 via goals from midfielders Issar Sarr and Thabo Qalinge against Polokwane City.
Before the City game, Pirates lost to Chippa United in a league match.
But Gcaba described that loss as a “minor” slump which they have overcome.
Today at the PSL offices, Gcaba said his side have what it takes to win this competition having lost to Platinum Stars in last year’s final.
“We can reach the final,” he boldly predicted.
Under Vladimir Vermezovic, Pirates won the Nedbank Cup and the Serbian coach won the Telkom Knockout for Kaizer Chiefs four seasons back.
Gcaba described their clash against the Urban Warriors as an “interesting one”.
“They have our former coach Roger De Sa in charge and that will make it a bit tricky for us,” he said.
“But that will not stop us from aiming for the final.”
The quarterfinal draw:
Orlando Pirates v Ajax Cape Town
Kaizer Chiefs v Platinum Stars
Bidvest Wits v SuperSport United
Mamelodi Sundowns v AmaZulu
