Celtic lost 4-1 to Chiefs in the annual competition last year.
“Last season’s performance was dismal and unfair to multitudes of our supporters who converged at the stadium, and that must be rectified with a splendid brand of football complemented with goals,” he told his club’s website.
“We are the hosts and are expected to produce a sumptuous display, keeping the momentum and subsequently reclaiming what belongs to us.
“We are wary of Chiefs, however, our preparations have been extensive, and everyone wants to play with determination because there is no friendly game between the two teams.
“Collectively, we have been working towards building a winning mentality, and the Macufe Cup will help us continue with the trend.”
The teams are set to meet at Free State Stadium on Sunday.
