The Buccaneers finished outside of the top eight last season, seemingly owning to their run in the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup where they reached the finals in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
“They are a good team, we need them and I think they can do well in the Champions League honestly speaking,” said Mosimane.

“But sometimes you look at the Champions League and then you give up the league… don’t be surprised when you finish 10th on the log.”
Mosimane suggested that his players are now accustomed to hectic schedules of juggling the domestic front and continental football.
“The guys don’t care about the heavy program because they want to win the league. We don’t have to motivate them but what we do is we don’t train, we make them rest. We have been in this space before, we understand the situation and we know the heavy program.
“I have said it before that we are not going to make excuses of that because we know this program and that is why I say come next year, I would like to see Pirates in this (Champions League) and play eight games in 25 games… we will see if they cope,” he added.
