Pitso Mosimane has chosen to maintain his silence on Teko Modise’s book titled The Curse of Teko Modise.

In the tell-all biography, the former Sundowns midfield maestro revealed that he and Mosimane had not been on speaking terms in his final two years at Chloorkop.
“I don’t want to talk about Teko … he wrote a book, let him sell the book. Let’s not spoil his book, let’s be nice,” said Mosimane.

“I want to be the way I was when I got him from Pillars. I didn’t say he must go, he left. I have always said he’s going to stay here (at Sundowns) until he wants to go, but I would never say he must go, he is a legend, and I appreciate all the work he has done … he has done well for the club,” he added.

Mosimane and ‘The General’ first worked together in their days at SuperSport United after ‘Jingles’ signed Modise from City Pillars in 2006.
Mosimane then left Matsatsantsa to take up the job of Bafana Bafana assistant coach on a full-time basis in 2007 before taking up the head coach position after the 2010 Fifa World Cup, where the two continued to work together at national level.
Modise – who now turns out for Mother City-based side Cape Town City under Benni McCarthy – once served as Mosimane’s captain at Downs until the outgoing African Coach-of-the-Year decided to strip the 34-year-old off his duty as skipper in order to focus on his performance.
Under Mosimane, Modise has won two league titles, the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout, Caf Champions League and the Super Cup – all between 2013 and 2017.
