Mosimane gives his view on Laffor to Kaizer Chiefs

Pitso Mosimane says he is unsure if Anthony Laffor will leave Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season.

Laffor has been heavily linked again with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but Sundowns coach Mosimane said: “I don’t know, Laffor is with us, Laffor has got the magic, Laffor has a goal. We don’t chase him away, if he wants to leave, he can leave. If he wants to stay, he can stay.”

The Liberian forward has seen his game time limited at Masandawana this season, making just one Absa Premiership start, and nine appearances off the bench. He has, however, proved vital to Sundowns in the Caf Champions League in the last couple of years, netting five goals, and Mosimane’s men kick off another Champions League group stage campaign on Saturday against Wydad Casablanca.

“He has done well for us in the Champions League, but everyone has his time,” added Mosimane.

“You can say the same about Surprise Moriri, Elias Pelembe, Katlego Mphela, Teko Modise, they have moved on, the team must always be strong. In the last five years we have last all those, even Lebo Mokoena, we have moved on. What is important is to keep the team winning.”
