The was after Pitso Mosimane was incensed in an Absa Premiership draw with Bidvest Wits after goalkeeper Darren Keet handled the ball outside of his goal area as the tie ended in a 1-1 draw.
“It would be nice to talk to the referees behind closed doors… us (coaches) without you guys (media),” Mosimane told members of the media at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The former Bafana Bafana coach added: “In Europe when an official makes a mistake he knocks on your door and says ‘guys sorry, I made a mistake and I cost you points’. It doesn’t bring back the points but it makes humility to say sorry.
“In South Africa these give are protected. They don’t say sorry, they are not accountable and they walk way. Nothing happens (to them) so let it be, it is a lost course.”
