Moloi set to face PSL music for Chiefs comment

Moloi and Chippa United released a statement apologising to Amakhosi for the comments he made in post-match interview after his side lost 1-0 to Chiefs in a Telkom knockout quarterfinal match.

The former Orlando Pirates playmaker said in the interview on television:  “If I’m going to lose in this way then I’m still learning. I expect to lose with the opposition really coming at me, coming with a better tactical plan.

“But I have to accept because I grew up knowing that the only way Chiefs could beat me is this way.”

PSL spokesman Luxolo September, however, says Moloi’s apology hasn’t saved him from facing charges.

“If you punch someone and apologise, it doesn’t mean the prosecutor may not investigate the charge,” September told the Sunday World.

“An apology doesn’t mean a crime was not committed. However, whether (Moloi) is charged or not is completely up to the PSL prosecutor.

“His apology could be taken into account, or used by his legal defence in mitigation, should he be charged,” September concluded.
