Moloi praises Wome

Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Tebogo Moloi is convinced loanee Dove Wome could spark a wave of change at the club.

Wome hasn’t put a foot wrong in his first three matches in Pirates colours, scoring two goals from the club so far after joining the Buccaneers from SuperSport United in the January transfer window.

The Togolese international first goal for Sea Robbers came in a match against Cape Town City before scoring is second in their next outing against Polokwane City.

“I think he’s a breath of fresh air, and I am quite surprised that Pirates were able to bring him in because in the past Wome has never been a player any team could let go,” Moloi told IOL.

“You will recall that SuperSport also first got him on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns before they signed him permanently. He is a quality player and a strong character who can lead the attack. He is known for scoring.

“I don’t want to put pressure on him, but to have scored two goals in his previous two matches suggests he can lead the revival,” the former Pirates midfielder added.

“If he gets another one against Chiefs then the fans will be confident he can help, regardless of whether Pirates win or lose on the day.”
