Aubrey Modiba suggests that Mamelodi Sundowns will not take Baroka FC for granted even though the Limpopo-based side appear to be the one side that’s struggling the most in the DStv Premiership, having picked up a mere 10 points in 14 games.

Downs will host the rock-bottom side this afternoon at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

“We are expecting a very difficult game because every team that is gunning for points always makes sure that they fight hard for them because they have not been collecting maximum points. We have been watching their games and we feel we are able to match them and we are up to the task,” said Modiba.

The former SuperSport United versatile player is wary of the potent personnel that coach Kgoloko Thobejane has at his disposal, and reckons that Masandawana will need to guard against individual brilliance if they are to come out without blemish against Bakgaga.

“They do have Evidence Makgopa, a Bafana Bafana striker, they have Sekela Sithole, Atenkosi Dladla in the middle and Denwin Farmer at the back, so they are a well-balanced team and they work very hard. They recently changed the coach but the coach is familiar with the team because he has been there before,” said Modiba.

He added: “They played against Cape Town City but they missed quite a few chances and their coaches are going to work on all the negatives and positives that they encountered in that game and maybe use the positives in our game. It is going to be an interesting game and they always work hard when they play against Sundowns.”
