Mntambo faces late fitness test ahead of SuperSport clash

According to the Pirates medical team, Mntambo has been experiencing some mild discomfort in the groin region.

Orlando Pirates have announced that midfielder Linda Mntambo is set to undergo a late fitness test ahead of tonight’s Absa Premiership encounter against SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium.

“The enterprising midfielder has been suffering from an injury which has kept him out of training for the last couple of days,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“Mntambo who played in the CAF Champions League defeat to Esperance de Tunis, will be hoping to get the green light from the medical team and keep his starting position in a rather competitive midfield littered with the quality of Ben Motshwari, Xola Mlambo and Musa Nyatama, all of whom are fit and competing for that berth.”

The clash is set to kick off at 7.30pm this evening.
