Mkhize ready for Billiat test in Nedbank cup clash

Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize says he is ready to face Khama Billiat when his side goes up against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal on Sunday afternoon.

Mkhize revealed that coach Benni McCarthy has given him the green light to surge forward and contribute to the club’s attacking moves.

The Bafana Bafana defender says he enjoys testing himself against big clubs when playing in cup competitions.

“Me? I’m always ready‚” said Mkhize about the Nedbank cup tie against Chiefs. “I enjoy testing myself against those guys. Enjoying playing football is the most important. I’ve learnt that if you want to enjoy what you are doing‚ you must always work hard. For me‚ whenever I’m on the pitch‚ I always try to express myself‚ to do what the coach wants me to do and I always try to help my teammates where I can.”
