According to a statement issued by FIFPro, Miheso’s lawyer is seeking a transfer ban or any other sanction that Fifa sees fit for Arrows and about $22 000 (about R289 000) in unpaid wages.

The FIFPro statement:

Clifton Miheso’s lawyer has filed a complaint to Fifa after the footballer was pressured by two men carrying guns to terminate his contract with South African club Golden Arrows.

The armed men arrived in the club’s offices where he was meeting with the chief executive and pressured him into signing a document rescinding his contract.

Later that day, the club’s chairwoman persuaded Miheso to drop a police complaint and instructed him to write a letter which she dictated stating he had no issue with the club and it had treated him well.

Miheso, who feared for his life, returned to his native Kenya within days of the January 14th incident.

His lawyer is seeking a transfer ban or any other sanction Fifa’s Dispute Resolution Chamber sees fit for Golden Arrows and about $22,000 in unpaid wages.

Durban-based Golden Arrows has failed to provide any satisfactory information about the incident, according to the lawyer.

The South African Football Players Union (SAFPU), a member of FIFPro, has asked for the South African Football Association to launch its own inquiry into what happened.
