Middendorp reveals why he confronted the referee

Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp confronted the referee after Andriamirado “Dax” Andrianarimanana was tackled during the game against Black Leopards at the Thohoyandau Stadium on Saturday.

The German mentor, who was charged towards referee Khulekani Thusi after the tackle, says he could not hide his emotions anymore after several fouls against his players were not charged by the referee.

“I saw bone breaking foul against Dax but it’s only just my opinion. I saw some moments in the first half and in the second half I though mhh I would like to sit with this referee trio (Khulekani Thusi, Thamanga Sebati and Moeketsi Molelekoa) to try find out if they still have the same opinion or to probably try to find a solution that something could have been decide differently. But okay, sometimes I am more irritated about this bone-breaking foul and then you just go on, it’s a little bit irritating,” said Middendorp.

Chiefs played to a 1-1 draw with Lidoda Duvha on Saturday. The draw left the Soweto giants 13 points behind leaders Orlando Pirates with just few matches left before the end of the season.
