Micho open to Lepasa returning to Pirates

Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic believes Zakhele Lepasa would fit in his system as an impact player next season.

Lepasa was on loan at National First Division side TS Galaxy last season under the mentorship of coach Dan Malesela last season.

There were reports that Malesela wanted to keep the 22-year-old striker after helping his side win the Nedbank Cup trophy against Kaizer Chiefs. However, Sredojevic is keen on Lepasa’s return to Pirates, but the Serbian coach has not guaranteed Lepasa a starting berth at his team.

“I have to be sincere and say, with the amount of competitions that we will be in, a player of this kind that could come, whether, one minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or whatever time and score for you is always a golden [asset],” Sredojevic was quoted as saying by Sport24.

“If you remember, with Alex Ferguson when he had [Federico] Macheda, do you remember that guy? They won the league based on the player that was a surprise package.

“Between the player that comes sulking and showing [negative expressions] in the face, and a player that is hungry for even one second, which is for him everything on this planet, a coach would always choose to have a super-sub, on many positions, not only that one.”
