Micho not happy with Pirates strikers

This comes after the team drew 0-0 with Golden Arrows at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Bucs coach believes his charges could have done better, especially after they dominated for most of the game. However, they only managed to create a few chances.

“We were looking to correct what was wrong and we knew we were playing against a very organised team. We prepared very well and I believe we had patience in our build-ups, however, in our build-ups we had a critical missing factor – we didn’t have enough possession in the last third,” said the Pirates coach, who went on to credit his back four for their work on the night.

“We created chances, but not enough and what we created we didn’t score from, so from an attacking point of view something that has to be corrected.

“Defensively we played with a high line. We tightened up quite a lot at the back, limiting the chances of our opponents, looking at having a good counter-pressing and I think we did well for the most part of the match.

“There were some lapses here and there that we need to correct, but defensively we need to be satisfied. This is our second match out of nine with a clean sheet, we have to give credit to captain Happy Jele and all the players there (defenders). But on the other hand, we are not satisfied attacking-wise.”

Pirates have now recorded three draws, four wins and two losses in their last nine games in the league.

They find themselves in second spot in the Absa Premiership standings with 15 points, one point behind Bidvest Wits, who are on top of the table with 16 points.

Sredojevic will be hoping his charges pull out an improved performance when they travel to KwaZulu-Natal for a meeting with AmaZulu FC at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday night.
