Khuzwayo was said to be ready to play for Pirates after recovering from the surgery, but the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper is yet to make his debut for Pirates since joining them from Amakhosi at the beginning of the season.
“Look, a set of unbelievable things happened to him you know, coming to us, we played him in the first and second match of pre-season then needed surgery and he came back and recovered. We put him under special program, same like (Wayne) Sandilands and now when we counted on him he has injured his knee after playing MDC. It is really unfortunate. I have nothing else to say but we would like to have him back,” Micho told SAFM.
Sredojevic also responded to reports that Thamsanqa Gabuza is set to be released by Pirates at the end of the season.
“Unfortunately what Gabuza can do has not reflected on the field of play. However he is a very important member of the team. A generator that brings positive energy to the team.”
Sredojevic has not ruled out the possibility of signing more players during the offseason, but stated that he would only talk about the player movements after the season has finished, out of respect for those that are on the club’s books.
