Mhlongo completes Chippa move

Chippa United chairman Siviwe Mpengesi has confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo from Orlando Pirates.

Mhlongo joins the Chilli Boys on a three-year deal.

The confirmation ends speculation around the player’s move to the Port Elizabeth-based side.

“We are pleased to confirm that Brighton will don the Chippa United jersey for the next three years,” Mpengesi told the club’s website.

“He is one of the top goalkeepers in the country, and his arrival can only strengthen us going to the season ahead.

”Thank you to Dr Khoza and Orlando Pirates, they once again showed their professionalism during negotiations.

“I would also like to thank Prosport International for their contribution in making this deal happen.

“Lastly my management team down in Port Elizabeth, in particular, Mr Peter Koutroulis, who worked tirelessly in tying up this deal,” concluded Mpengesi.

Chippa are set to announce other new signings later this week.
