He made a recovery towards the end of the 2018/19 season, but got injured again while playing for the Pirates reserve side in the Diski Challenge.
According to a source, Pirates have asked Khuzwayo to retire and take the insurance package, but the goalkeeper wants to continue playing.
“The Pirates doctors feel that Khuzwayo might not fully recover from his injury and that it will recur as soon as he starts playing again. They fear for his health because he might be crippled for life if he risks his injury and [continues] playing. They have advised him to retire, but he is having none of it,” said the source.
Word now is that Pirates are considering to terminate Khuzwayo’s contract.
