Tshabalala’s greed cited as Ajax, Celtic status deal flounders

The deal between Ajax Cape Town and Bloemfontein Celtic seems to have hit an impasse as the clubs are now not seeing eye-to-eye.

The Urban Warriors want to purchase Phunya Sele Sele’s Absa Premiership status but flamboyant club owner Max Tshabalala is believed to be asking a lot more than what they believe the club is worth.

“Tshabalala expects Ajax’s Dutch partners, Ajax Amsterdam, to sponsor the purchase as he wants money to settle his tax commitments and still have a huge amount left over to continue funding the luxurious lifestyle he has become accustomed to,” said a source.
