A source said the Swallows management have already spoken to the Dikwena owners but could not come up with the required amount to take over the club’s Premiership status but with the price set to drop if the team gets relegated, the Dube Birds could yet take over.
“A deal would have been struck but I think after AmaZulu paid so much for Thanda’s status, Platinum Stars’ people also made bigger demands which Swallows could not afford,” said a source.
Dube Birds official Panyaza Lesufi (below) has made it public that Swallows will be back in the paid ranks next season either in the National First Division or Absa Premiership.
