Surprise as Ekstein could leave Chiefs

According to the source, there were lots of debates regarding the release of the fan favourite at Amakhosi, with some people in management not wanting to see the midfielder leaving the club, while others think it’s best for him to seek employment elsewhere.

“It’s tough, I never saw this coming for him,” said the source.

“He played a lot of games this season and made a huge contribution to the team. I don’t really understand why they want to release him. But the list of the players that will be leaving the club is yet to be finalised, maybe management might reconsider keeping him. We will wait and see until the club officially release the list,” added the source.
