SuperSport United are exploring the possibility of permanently moving out of the Lucas Moripe Stadium into a smaller venue next season.
LISTEN: Will anyone ever stop Mamelodi Sundowns?
United have been using the Atteridgeville arena as their base for a number of years, but the lack of support in that region is likely to steer Matsatsantsa A Pitori away.
SuperSport will play the remainder of their home games at the Tshwane University of Technology, with the Lucas Moripe Stadium said to be unsuitable to host games.
“Atteridgeville is big enough to support football, but the people who live around here don’t seem to be keen on attending games, and to be fair, that venue is too big to fill on any given day. Even Mamelodi Sundowns struggled to get bums on seats when they played here and they might not return to Atteridgeville,” said a source.
