SuperSport, Pirates eyeing Zwane’s moves at Sundowns

SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates are said to be keeping close eye on Themba Zwane’s situation with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Themba Zwane’s contract with Sundowns is set to expire at the end of June next year, and the parties are still locked in negotiations over a new contract.

However, a Phakaaathi source close to Sundowns says Matsatsantsa and Bucs are “monitoring” the 28-year-old’s situation.

“Themba is a very good player and if negotiations with Sundowns don’t go well, SuperSport and Pirates are definitely going to pounce on him. They are monitoring his situation at Sundowns,” the source told Phakaaathi.

Zwane has done well for Sundowns since rejoining them on loan from Black Aces in June 2014.

As a result of his consistent performances for the Brazilians, Zwane receives regular call-ups to the Bafana Bafana squad.
