Word reaching the Mgosi Squad is that Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker and his technical team have received an instruction from management about the non sale of any player at the end of the season.

The Mother City-based side have been selling their potent players to big clubs in almost every transfer window, but it seems that it won’t be the case in the end-of-season transfer period.
“There is a no-sale tag placed on the entire squad because the management wants to build a solid squad for next season, and selling top players will mean that they will have to start all over again,” said a source.
A player like Junior Mendieta has been on the radar of a number of top teams such as Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and league champions Mamelodi Sundowns, but that move might not materialise.

Mendieta has been in the country since 2020 where he was recruited to be part of Stellies maiden season in the top flight. Since his arrival, the Argentine has been a revelation for the Mother City-based outfit as he has contributed a few goals and chipped in a number of assists.
The Argentine midfield wizard has contributed to 14 goals across all competition for Steve Barker’s side, which is why Stellies’ top brass are not keen to let go of the 29-yera-old.
