Stars’ asking price for Jantjie scares ‘Big Three’ off

Phakaaathi has learnt that Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns face being priced out of the market for Free State Stars winger Sinethemba Jantjie.

According to a source close to Stars, Ea Lla Koto want R5 million for the 28-year-old winger.

“Stars want R5 million for Jantjie, and as result Chiefs and Sundowns are already out of the race for his signature because they think this amount is too high. Pirates are still interested, but they also want Stars to lower the asking price. If not, then they won’t sign him either,” said the source.

Meanwhile, Stars have parted ways with Thokozani Sekotlong.

Sekotlong’s release comes as a bit of a surprise considering that the midfielder did well last season, scoring five goals in the league for Ea Lla Koto.
