Sekhukhune will take on Orlando Pirates in the final of the tournament at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.
“I think it’s a norm for a team like Sekhukhune to promise players bonuses when they are about to play in a Cup final. It’s a huge motivation for the players. Another thing is that it’s very rare for the club to find itself at this stage of the tournament. So, it shows that the players are hungry for success,” said the source.
“It is not only about the Nedbank Cup. If you look at the club’s performance this season, you will see that there is a huge improvement. Things didn’t go so well last campaign. There is a lot that is going to be achieved going forward. But, in terms of bonuses, it is just an appreciation token. Yes, players are there to win trophies for the club, but it’s been a very tough season. They fought hard and showed a lot of desire to get positive results. I just hope that they go on to win the Nedbank Cup, it will be great for the club, for the fans and especially for the people of Limpopo.”
