Ghana born striker Kwame Peprah will be put on the transfer list come the end of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season, with the club’s technical team not happy about his performances at Maritzburg United where he is on loan, a source at Bucs has revealed.

Pirates have been assessing the striker’s progress at the Team of Choice, but they are not happy with what they have seen from Peprah and don’t believe he will benefit the club.
The striker was sent on loan to Maritzburg at the start of the season with the hope of seeing him unleash his best, but he has failed to do so.
There there was lots of expectation around Peprah when he first came to South Africa to join the Buccaneers two seasons ago, but he has failed to live up to expectations.
Peprah was seen as the next big player Pirates had signed following his impressive displays for his former side King Faisal, where he was a regular goalscorer.
“They have been monitoring his progress, unfortunately the technical team is not happy with him. He was supposed to show them that he deserves to play for Pirates, but he has failed, dismally,” said a source.
“They will be putting him on the transfer list come the end of the season, they don’t think he will add value to the team. Plus the coaches are working on balancing the squad because guys like Mabasa (Tshegofatso) and Zakhele Lepasa are coming back next season.

“Those guys have been doing really well where they are on loan, especially Lepasa at SuperSport United, plus he also did well for the national team. Remember they are already planning for the Caf Champions League and they believe the squad that they will assemble will have to be very tight and balanced. The bosses don’t want to have a big squad where some players will end up just getting paid without playing.”
Peprah has featured 13 times for the Team of Choice, and he has only managed to score one goal for the club.
