Pirates set to sweeten Hlatshwayo deal

Orlando Pirates are ready to step up their interest in Bidvest Wits defender Thulani Hlatshwayo by offering Riyaad Norodien or Abbubaker Mobara as part of the deal.

Hlatshwayo has been reportedly a target of Pirates for some time, but the deal failed to materialise.

And now Pirates will hope the inclusion of Norodien or Mobara will be enough to push forward talks on a transfer fee for the Bafana Bafana captain.

“Pirates are really interested in Hlatshwayo, and are prepared to include Mobara or Norodien as part of the deal. Wits want a player plus cash, and I think that’s what has been holding the move, but the teams are talking,” said a source close.

Wits coach Gavin Hunt is said to be a fan of Mobara, but it remains to be seen if he will be prepared to let go of his captain in order to land him.
