Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has asked the club management to make the return of Tshegofatso Mabasa a top priority, with the Spaniard eager to have the striker back in the team in order to strengthen his squad following their poor form in the league.
According to a source, Buccaneers management realised that placing the striker on loan at Moroka Swallows FC was a huge mistake, and he is someone who could have helped the team for much of this campaign.
Riveiro, who has seen his team continue with a poor run in the DStv Premiership, is hugely concerned with the state of the club in the league after they went on to record their second draw in a row when they played to a 1-1 draw with Polokwane City last Friday.
The insider went on to reveal that getting Mabasa back in January might be difficult for the Buccaneers, but, it will all depend on the agreement the club made with Swallows.
“You can see the guys are not doing their best, and when it’s like that you become worried. The coach is really serious about getting Mabasa back and he has told the guys at the top to deal with it as quickly as possible. What I can say is that he is the main priority at Pirates at the moment,” claimed the source.
