Ngele said to be keen on a move back to the DStv Premiership next season

After leaving the country to go back to his homeland Botswana last year, former Premier Soccer League (PSL) star Mogakolodi Ngele is hopeful of making a return to the DStv Premiership, a source close to the player has revealed.

Ngele went back to Botswana following unsuccessful spells Black Leopards, Chippa United and the side now known as Marumo Gallants. The talented midfielder, who was seen as one of the best exports to come out of Botswana, never really lived up to expectations.

This happened when he failed to make it as a regular at Mamelodi Sundowns, after his wonderful spell with Platinum Stars. He ended up going on loan to Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.

The attacking midfielder was brought from his native country by Dikwena, who have since been dissolved.

Ngele has been a star for his home team Township Rollers, scoring and creating goals since arriving last year. His impact on the team is said to have been something very noticeable, and it is what he was looking for.

“Things haven’t been great for him … A player like him should have never found himself in a situation whereby he can’t even find a team. The problem is that he is a good guy and he ended up trusting a lot of wrong people,” said the source.

“But, what happened is all in the past now. He is focussing on the future and what he wants to achieve in his career. He has been doing really well for Rollers, and that has helped him to gain his confidence back. He wants to come back into the PSL. He is only 32-years old now and he can give you about three more seasons. So, we will see what happens because the Botswana Premier League is ending soon.”

Ngele is said to be willing to listen should there be any offers for him in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. But, he is more keen on playing in the top flight.
