Ndoro’s Highlands move stalls over wage demands

A source close to the negotiations says: 'His high salary demand is also a problem, but the talks are still ongoing so not all is lost.'

Former Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro may have to lower his wage demands to join Highlands Park.

Talks between Ndoro and the Lions of the North officials have been going for some time since the player started training with the team more than three weeks ago.

Now a source close to the negotiations tells Phakaaathi that Ndoro’s high wage demands and contract length are proving to be the stumbling block.

“Ndoro wants a long-term contract, but the club is only willing to give him a one-year deal and he is not happy with that. His high salary demand is also a problem, but the talks are still ongoing so not all is lost,” said the source.

“Coach Owen (Da Gama) likes him and he also wants to join the team, but if he doesn’t accept the club offer then he’ll be asked to stop training. I hear that a decision will be made by Friday on whether or not to sign Ndoro.”

Ndoro is currently a free agent after partying ways with Ajax at the end of last season.

He was heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but that move failed to materialise.
