However, an informant at the Chloorkop side has told this publication that the former Golden Arrows mentor is not keen to leave Masandawana.
The stumbling block is that Sundowns have not tabled a contract extension for Mngqithi, who has been at the club for close to a decade.
At this point there is a lot of uncertainty around the coaching staff, hence the recent re-shuffling of positions in the technical team.
Mngqithi has been an integral part of Sundowns’ success over the years in a multiple coaching set-up.
