The Buccaneers are said to have close to 10 players loaned out to NFD and Absa Premiership teams who have been closely monitored to see their progress.
“Some have impressed and might be recalled to their parent club. One of those is Sibusiso Mthethwa who has become a rock at the back for Richards Bay and is seen as a capable replacement for when Happy Jele retires. They want him to come back and be Jele’s understudy next season,” said a source.
Another Orlando Pirates player who could be recalled is striker Zakhele Lepasa, who has been in top form on loan at TS Galaxy, but Phakaaathi understands that Dan Malesela wants to keep him for at least one more season as he feels the 22-year-old may struggle at Pirates who have a number of capable players in his position.
