Hlatshwayo keen on Pirates move

A source close to Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo has revealed that the defender is keen on a move to Orlando Pirates.

In July, Phakaaathi reported that Pirates had their offer for Thulani Hlatshwayo rejected by Wits.

Hlatshwayo later admitted that he was aware of the rumours linking him to Bucs, but added that he had no contact from Pirates over a possible move to the club.

Now, a source close to the Bafana Bafana skipper tells Phakaaathi that Hlatshwayo will jump at the opportunity to play for Pirates if the club makes an offer for him in January.

“Tyson won’t come out and say he wants to join Pirates. He is the Wits captain after all. But I know that he wants to join Pirates,” said the source.

“He grew up supporting Pirates and he would love to play for the club before he retires. He was excited when he heard that Pirates were after his services, but nothing came out of those reports. He’s now hoping that Pirates will make an offer for him in January.”

Hlatshwayo signed a new contract with Wits in February this year that expires in June 2019, so Pirates will have to pay a fee to get him from Wits.
