According to a source close to the Lions of the North, the teams have started talking about a possible loan move for the defender.
Gcaba is struggling to get game time at Pirates, and last week, the former Free State Stars defender was an unused substitute during the Multichoice Diski Challenge match between Pirates and Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
“Gordon [Igesund] is a fan of Gcaba. He likes his work rate, and he believes he can strengthen his defence,” said a source close to Highlands.
Meanwhile, Highlands have reportedly signed Bidvest Wits right back Siyabonga Nhlapo.
Nhlapo is said to have signed a six-month loan contract with the Lions of the North.
