Mphela, popularly known as “Killer”, which is attributed to hi killer instinct in front of goal, is said to be struggling at the National First Division side as he is now onlt a shadow of his former self.
Although his side are second in the NFD, Mphela feels he can no longer perform at that level. The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker joined Eagles in 2015 after a disastrous spell with Kaizer Chiefs.
“He is now on the wrong side of 30, and he knows he can no longer produce the performance he was once capable of delivering. Another thing is that he is not used to playing second fiddle to anyone,” a Phakaaathi source revealed.
