According to a source, Letlotlo had full potential to become one of South Africa’s best striker’s, but his mind was filled up with a lot problems, hence he was even booted out of Chiefs.
Letlotlo was a star in the Amakhosi development structures and many saw him as the next big to come out of the Chiefs youth development, but lack of guidance and wrong friends derailed his career.
The striker was seen as the next big thing in the country during the MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC), which has since been renamed the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC), scoring goals week in week out. Apparently, he became big headed and did not want to take advice from anyone even after he was promoted to the senior Chiefs team.
“If you tell me about Adebayor (Letlotlo), I will tell you a lot. That was a boy who had everything coming his way. Everything was there for him. The future was very bright. I don’t want to lie to you, every young boy in the Chiefs development craved him, they wanted to be like him. He had everything, but wrong decisions killed him,” said a source,
“I don’t want to lie to you, when it comes to friends, a lot of players make bad choices, and Adebayor is one of those. He made some bad choices in his life and I feel sorry for him because he should be the number striker for Chiefs or playing in Europe at the moment. But what happened, friends and fun time killed him. He thought he made it, but it was only the beginning. I won’t blame Chiefs, they did everything for him, but he thought he knew it all because he was all over the billboards.”
Letlotlo is said to be currently playing his football in the Motsepe Foundation Championship club somewhere in the Northern Cape.
